More and more cities are recognizing the importance dog owners place on have a park available for off-leash fun for their Fidos. One of the latest to open is in Boca Raton, Florida with a 2-acre site off of Broken Sound Boulevard in the T-Rex Technology Center.
This park is really temporary until a more permanent park is built, but there were no complaints registered by any of the two-legged or four-legged users. The area has fenced two runs – one for small dogs and another for larger breeds. There is shelter available and a water fountain at ground level so the canines can drink freely.
In keeping with the rules, Boca Raton offers plastic-bag dispensers to help scoop up the poop.
In Dallas, a significant donation has been received for what will be a dog park where Fido can run free. Muenster Milling Company, a manufacturer of dog food, donated 25-thousand dollars for the project at the north edge of White Rock Lake. Officials hope the area can open by June, but they are asking for more donations to add benches, lighting and landscaping. Eventually, they hope to offer an area of more than two for large dogs and a 1-acre site for small dogs.
